Roses are Red.........

Good afternoon everyone, yesterday we had cloud all day not happy at that, but woke up this morning its glorious sunshine woohoo. Unfortunately have not been unable to enjoy it yet as the dreaded h.......k got in the way so too compensate for that I took some short breaks in between and made a card..... like you would lol.
The last few weeks I have been playing with the cd`s for Jem`s Designs and making samples for their up and coming shows, no I cannot show you them... yet..., so I thought I would brush the dust off my Promarkers which have been sorely neglected tut tut I hear you all say lol.
Then I had to choose what image I was going to use, after a lot of time spent last evening looking at stamps and images, I finally decided to use one of my own digi`s... Rose. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed colouring in.  I still need loads of practise.
To set the image off I used black card for the base and stamped and clear embossed it.
The spine of the card has also a different look called Braided Card technique which I found on Pinterest and just had to have a go, you can find it here. Yes it is so easy.
I also used Spellbinders Timeless rectangles and ribbon from my stash. I shall add a sentiment when I know what it will be for.

Thank you all for popping by......

Just a Note........

Wow another week has gone by so quickly, another weekend nearly upon us and I have not got done what I wanted too, oh well there`s always next week lol.

Made this card last week and would you believe it got lost among all the papers on my desk oops. I bought some of Ali Reeves templates and thought I would have a play after watching her on C & C. For this I used a 5 x 5 scalloped card and placed the template onto the card and used Tattered Rose to ink the inside of template then stamped the poppy ( very kindly given to me by the lovely Lindsay ) with Memento black tuxedo then wrote Just a Note in the corner. I`m not sure if I need to add anything else!!!!!!!

Now before I go just a little update on my granddaughter Ashley, She is still having dialysis 3 times a week, so at times she does get depressed as she has to watch how much she drinks and has to be careful around anyone who may be unwell themselves.

To say I am so PROUD of her is an understatement. I love you so much.
Oooops nearly forgot my great granddaughter Isabella is now 2 months old  and weighs 7lb and she is coming on in leaps and bounds even if she did sleep most of the time while she was here today.
Finally managed to get one or two photo`s when she did open her eyes lol. beside her is the little teddy that hubby bought her and yes it does have Arsenal on, we have to start her early lol.

What a Surprise.........

Well here I am finally with some exciting news......
A few weeks ago I joined the Jem`s Design facebook group and seeing the cards and creations that the girls had made I bought a couple of cd`s along with freebies that Sue Andrews very kindly lets the members use, and I was lucky to win one of the competitions that they hold using A Swan`s Song CD, the images are very delicate along with the backing papers and elements.

About a month ago Sheenagh Hulin asked if I would be interested in being a guest DT for their new upcoming cd....
" Yesterdays` Dreams - Christmas Treasures "
 which will be on
Create & Craft Tuesday 25th June  - time to be announced.
Well I jumped at the chance and thoroughly enjoyed using the images that Sheenagh sent me and they are fabulous and so easy to work with,   I was quite nervous, so me being me I gave Sheenagh a sneak peek of what I had made
( Sorry no I cannot show you what I have created at the moment).
Imagine my surprise when I received an email from Sheenagh asking if I would be interested in becoming a permanent design team member, I was shocked and just sat there for a few minutes trying to take it all in......... of course I said YES woohoo.
Thank you Sheenagh for asking.
Jem`s Designs are well known for.. Gothic, Fantasy, Fairies and Dark  and so many others, just click on the link to find them all.

Right down to earth now. The 2 cards I am showing today are from Jem`s Designs HatBox Confection.
6 x 6 pink scalloped card, Creative Expressions Moroccan Mask, Spellbinders Adorning Squares, silver pearlised card, Tim Holz Distress ink, gems from stash. Hat is decoupaged.

The instructions for this card shape is from Joanna Sheen.
Centura card, backing paper printed onto cardstock, I did not have the correct spellbinders die to use, so I used matt and layer template from Emmas Cards uk cut by hand. Flowers so kindly given to me by Lindsay, gems from stash.

Just before I disappear a little update on my granddaughter Ashley.
She spoke to the doctor on the day of her discharge and he told her she has Goodpastures disease which effects the kidneys and lungs. Consequently she is having dialysis 3 times a week (she was having this while in hospital) for 6 months then she will be put on the transplant list.  can I ask if you dont already...
PLEASE Sign up for the donor card,  not only for her sake but all the sufferers out there.

Baby Shoes....

Hello everyone. As you have probably noticed (well I hope you had lol) I have been missing for a while and this is the reason why........Firstly I would like to thank all of you that left such lovely comments on my previous post in regards to your get well wishes for my granddaughter Ashley.

I can at last tell you that she came out of hospital yesterday after a month of some very bad and scarey times, she still has a long road ahead of her and I am so PROUD of her for what she has been through.
You are a STAR sweetheart.

In between having this worry over the family I have been making samples as a GDT spot, sorry cannot say more at the moment.
I have managed to make some baby shoes which I can now show you as I gave them to Ashley this morning when I went to see her and baby Isabella.

Items used White card for shoes, Centura white for the box background printed from MCS, peeloffs, Memory Box precious hearts, pink pearlised card for the letters.

Now for the best part, I had my first cuddle today with my Great granddaughter Isabella and she is absolutely adorable.
Mummy did not get a look in while I was there lol, which was quite funny because just before I got there Isabella would not stop crying, then I walk in and  being asked if I want to hold her ( silly question lol), she settled and went to sleep as the pictures will show.
I love this one as it seems like she is contemplating something with her hand on her chin.
Family together
Had to smile at this one.. as I had just given her back to mummy...
yes she started to cry.

one final word before you all get bored lol.
I want to apologise for not stopping by and leaving comments on your blogs of late. Will try my best very soon.

I am a Great Grandmother......

I am sorry that I have not been about at all in the last week, it has been a joyful and a tearful (well a lot really) time. Thank you to one very special person ( Lindsay) for letting me get my concerns of my chest.

As you have seen by the title I became a great Grandma last Wednesday as my granddaughter was rushed into hospital on the Tueday as she was having breathing problems. Thats another story which I really do not want to go into. The out come was she was induced on Weds morning and at 12:54pm my beautiful great granddaughter Isabella Vivian was born weighing 4lb 8oz and 6 weeks early, she was put into an incubator to start with, as my DIL says she has now been hatched and now into a cot lol..

Unfortunately my granddaughter was taken ill again afterwards and at present she has been sedated and being treated, again I do not want to go into details of the reasons. As you can imagine we are all very concerned for her and hoping that she gets well very soon.
I cannot wait to give her the cards and here they are.
This one is for my Great Granddaughter welcoming her to our world
The papers and image came from Jems Design CD Peek a Boo.
I added the text from MCS.
Of course for this I had to use my own digi Crib.
8x8 white card, Spellbinders Decorative Labels One
Cuttlebug Embossing folder used for the hearts which I cut out and embossed.
Image coloured with Promarkers, ribbon, flowers from stash.
I really do not do girly girly cards so found this quite hard.

Lastly the other week Lindsay made a keepsake box for a baby boy and I said if it was for a girl I would have bought it, well Lindsay pulled out all the stops and made me one and it is worth every penny. Thank you so much.

Thank you all for popping by and leaving comments
and I will try and catch up with you all soon.
