Roses for you...

Happy weekend everybody, and welcome to Nicky and Em.
It`s a beautiful warm day here, hope it is wherever you are :).

What a week it has been, last Saturday my washing machine decided it was time to go to washing machine heaven, so there we are on Sunday looking to buy a new one. We looked at all the usual shops on the web and finally decided to look on AO.com wow were we surprised at the prices, so affordable ended up getting a Zanussi, while looking for the day to be delivered we went for the eco day (thursday) as they were going to be in the area. So you can imagine when it did arrive (they plumbed it in too)  I had 5 days of washing to do luckily the weather was good and by Friday all was done and dried yippee, now the horrible job of ironing booo lol. Ok thats enough waffle from me, lets get down to what I was doing and that was.......

Mini Drawers..

Good evening to all my lovely followers and visitors and a
very warm welcome to Tracy.
When Ali Reeve was on C & C the other week I just had to buy the mini drawers and the clock as I had never done anything like this before, oh boy was I out of my comfort zone lol.
I dont have the pastes, paints or stencils
so I created the papers for this in Craft Artist,
silver embossed all the edges of the papers and the hearts and added die cuts and twine.
Now all I need to do is decide what I am going to do with the clock which still lays in the box it came in.

One of the groups that I belong to on facebook runs a blog of the week and I was chosen for last week ooops sorry a little bit late. That made my day.

They are a friendly bunch of girls so if you would like to join pop on over HERE.
You will certainly be made welcome.
they also have challenge blogs HERE, HERE, and HERE,
they are all anything goes challenges.

Cala Lily.... and more

Good evening to you all and a very warm welcome to Seema.
I was looking through my cards the other week and I had most celebrations covered except for sympathy. These I find very hard to make so I had a rummage through all my flowers and came across some cala lilies and this is what I did with them.
6x6 scallop white card.

-----------------------
As some of you know from my previous post HERE. That I have been playing with making my own embossing folders here are a couple more.

I found a Fleur De Lis punch, this time I only layered 2 together, then ran it through the GD onto Core dinations card then sanded it to bring the core through.
------------

Again 2 layers only, then embossed onto white card,
sorry I cannot remember the name of the die I used.
I hope these give you some ideas that you can use to make your own.

Embossing Folder........

I thought I would try and have a go at making my own embossing folder with some die cuts after seeing something similar on Pinterest ( yes I am addicted lol).
The first thing I used was some spare scraps of card ( some bits had practise stamping on which is perfect, mine will not now be going in the bin). Then I used a Britannia Large Flower Die and cut quite a few out.

I then stuck four of the flowers on top of each other ( the embossing came out rather deep so possibly 2 or 3 would have done) practise makes perfect lol.

The next step, I glued them onto a 5x5 piece of card.
I don`t know why but Blogger is not letting me upload more than one picture at a time bah humbug so it is taking me longer as I am having to come out everytime ggrrrr, if anyone has any ideas why please help.

The next step I ran it through my Grand Calibur. This is the embossed side.

This is the de bossed side. The line down the centre is an old a6 card and not part of the embossing folder.

I think I shall be playing a bit more to see what other dies I can use. Hope you enjoyed my short tutorial..... A first for me.

I have now had a play with a fleur De Lis punch and layered 2 together and that works too although not so deep, I suppose it will depend what thickness of card you use
