Where the Unicorns Roam...

Good evening to all my followers and friends I hope you have not had the rain that we have had all day and you are all keeping well, sending hugs if you are under the weather.

I have been very busy over the last couple of weeks making my samples for the brand new cd from Sue Andrews of Jem`s Designs called......
Where the Unicorns Roam Vol 2
Sue is on Create and Craft tomorrow 24th at 2pm,
I hope you will be able to watch, if not set that record button. The images are amazing and as you will see from my cards I have not gone over the top with embellishments as I did not want them to take the eye away from the images themselves.
So without further ado.......

Monochrome

Hi everyone, where has the time gone. Since my last post hubby and I have had 2 fabulous weeks away in Menorca and the weather was wonderful with a couple of spectacular thunder and lightening storms thrown in. One day we were sitting outside and the Red Arrows flew overhead and yes you quessed it my camera was inside the villa, so of course I had to find out why they were there and they were doing a display over Mahon, sorry I cannot remember why. We were very lucky to catch a couple of photo`s of the display as they had to fly over our villa.

The weather on this particular day was cloudy but very muggy and the sun did come out in the afternoon. Now I am sure you do not want to be bored with talk of our holiday.

It`s time for another monthly challenge over at......
 Seemacrafts Challenge Blog

This month it is Monochrome,
so I hope you will pop on over and join in.
Here are my DT makes

I used Seema`s car digi which I took into MCS to make a backing paper.

I used Seema`s Plain Shoe and blinged it up with gems and glitter. The card shape came from Joanna Sheen`s projects page.

Pop over to Seema`s blog and see what all the other DT girls have made. Thank you for popping by.

Autumn is coming

Hello and welcome to all my crafty friends and followers, I hope this finds you all well, sending hugs if any of you are feeling under the weather.
Before I get onto this months challenge over at Seemacrafts challenge blog, just a little update that some of you may have missed on FB. Just over a week ago I had to go and have my usual eye test and yet again my eyes have changed so new glasses it is. Not only that but the optician also informed me I have the first signs of cataracts in both eyes with the right one being a bit more advanced.
To say I was shocked was not the word for it and I just wanted to cry, so now instead of 2 years it is now 1 year annual checkup for me. Thank you all for your lovely positive comments that you left me on FB it was really appreciated.
Another reason why I have not been about is I got an order for wedding/evening invites for my Avon lady Sonia, which I have nearly finished just the inserts to do now. I could not believe how long they would take as I had 35 wedding annd 30 evening to do so lots of stamping, punching and die cutting. These I will show in my next post.
Right that enough waffling.

This months challenge over at Seemacrafts challenge blog is called
AUTUMN IS COMING......
The images I have used for this one is Girl in puddle, Hedgehogs and Autumn.
You can find Seema`s images  to buy here:-

The main image was coloured with promarkers. I paper pieced the word autumn.

I hope you will pop over and join in with the challenge and also take a peek at all the design team cards.

Roses for you...

Happy weekend everybody, and welcome to Nicky and Em.
It`s a beautiful warm day here, hope it is wherever you are :).

What a week it has been, last Saturday my washing machine decided it was time to go to washing machine heaven, so there we are on Sunday looking to buy a new one. We looked at all the usual shops on the web and finally decided to look on AO.com wow were we surprised at the prices, so affordable ended up getting a Zanussi, while looking for the day to be delivered we went for the eco day (thursday) as they were going to be in the area. So you can imagine when it did arrive (they plumbed it in too)  I had 5 days of washing to do luckily the weather was good and by Friday all was done and dried yippee, now the horrible job of ironing booo lol. Ok thats enough waffle from me, lets get down to what I was doing and that was.......
practising my colouring with Promarkers. For this I used an image from ArtbyMiran, her images are fabulous and this one was a freebie.

Mini Drawers..

Good evening to all my lovely followers and visitors and a
very warm welcome to Tracy.
When Ali Reeve was on C & C the other week I just had to buy the mini drawers and the clock as I had never done anything like this before, oh boy was I out of my comfort zone lol.
I dont have the pastes, paints or stencils
so I created the papers for this in Craft Artist,
silver embossed all the edges of the papers and the hearts and added die cuts and twine.
Now all I need to do is decide what I am going to do with the clock which still lays in the box it came in.

One of the groups that I belong to on facebook runs a blog of the week and I was chosen for last week ooops sorry a little bit late. That made my day.

They are a friendly bunch of girls so if you would like to join pop on over HERE.
You will certainly be made welcome.
they also have challenge blogs HERE, HERE, and HERE,
they are all anything goes challenges.

Cala Lily.... and more

Good evening to you all and a very warm welcome to Seema.
I was looking through my cards the other week and I had most celebrations covered except for sympathy. These I find very hard to make so I had a rummage through all my flowers and came across some cala lilies and this is what I did with them.
6x6 scallop white card.
Embossalicious Folder
Marianne Anja Flourish LR0271
sentiment embossed with Debbie Moore Deep Red embossing powder
Flowers from stash.
-----------------------
As some of you know from my previous post HERE. That I have been playing with making my own embossing folders here are a couple more.

I found a Fleur De Lis punch, this time I only layered 2 together, then ran it through the GD onto Core dinations card then sanded it to bring the core through.
------------

Again 2 layers only, then embossed onto white card,
sorry I cannot remember the name of the die I used.
I hope these give you some ideas that you can use to make your own.

Embossing Folder........

I thought I would try and have a go at making my own embossing folder with some die cuts after seeing something similar on Pinterest ( yes I am addicted lol).
The first thing I used was some spare scraps of card ( some bits had practise stamping on which is perfect, mine will not now be going in the bin). Then I used a Britannia Large Flower Die and cut quite a few out.

I then stuck four of the flowers on top of each other ( the embossing came out rather deep so possibly 2 or 3 would have done) practise makes perfect lol.

The next step, I glued them onto a 5x5 piece of card.
I don`t know why but Blogger is not letting me upload more than one picture at a time bah humbug so it is taking me longer as I am having to come out everytime ggrrrr, if anyone has any ideas why please help.

The next step I ran it through my Grand Calibur. This is the embossed side.

This is the de bossed side. The line down the centre is an old a6 card and not part of the embossing folder.

I think I shall be playing a bit more to see what other dies I can use. Hope you enjoyed my short tutorial..... A first for me.

I have now had a play with a fleur De Lis punch and layered 2 together and that works too although not so deep, I suppose it will depend what thickness of card you use

Monochrome....

Good evening to all my lovely followers and hello and welcome to Lavinia, I hope you have all had a great day crafting.
What a day it has been here very grey and chilly for most of the day so what better way to spend the time making a card with the Indigo Blue free stamps from Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine they are lush, and in between I had to do the mundane job of H.......k.
For this I just had to do a monochrome card as it was just perfect for the stamp I used.

1. 7x7 white card.
2. Indigo Blue stamps
3. stamped image with Versamark then heat embossed with Heat it Up Black Sparkle, layered it onto black card then white card and once more onto black.
4. Stamped border strip with flourish from same stamp set in Memento Ink.
5. Diecut the flower with Britannia medium flower die

Where has the time gone.........

I cannot believe that I have not blogged since February ooops. I think my mojo went on a world cruise with a slow boat to China, luckily I had made my granddaughters card before it went awol. I even tried looking at Pinterest for ideas and inspiration but my brain just did not want to know.
Thank goodness it came back as it is my great granddaughters 1st birthday on the 8th May, time goes by so quick. I had seen some onesie cards on Pinterest and thought I would have a go and make a template for one. I must admit I am quite pleased with my first attempt. Firstly I will show you the card I made for my granddaughter who loves anything purple.
I made the card shape with my own template on a 8x8 card.
all card and mirror card from stash.
Tonic dies Decorative Holly Rings.
Tonic dies Cocktail
Tonic dies Party Heels
All Occasions Happy Birthday dies.
Brittania Dies Large Rose Die.

I used my template on a large pre scored white card.
Then cut again on Pinflair Flower card pack which I won.
added lace and flower ribbon to edges from stash.
Sentiment made in MCS then
die cut with Spellbinders Floral Ovals.
Teddy image is from Jems Designs PeekaBoo cd

Here is the template if you want to try it.
Take it into any graphics programme to enlarge or decrease or maybe use my measurements.
click image to enlarge the right click to save. Apologies for the black marks, did not realise my scanner wanted cleaning.

These would make fab invites for a baby shower if made smaller.

I am sorry I have not been on all your blogs of late but I needed time away. I shall do my very best to visit and leave comments for you all.

Rose...

Hello everyone,   I hope you are all keeping well, sending huggles for those who are not feeling 100%.
Lets get the waffle bit over lol. I treated myself to the new Heartfelt Creations Raindrops on Roses dies and stamp last week and also an A4 embossing board so of course when they arrived the other day I just had to play :), first though I had to get the dreaded h-------k out of the way, boy it took ages... perhaps because I kept stopping for a cuppa, well you just have too lol. Once that was out of the way I then had to decide what I was going to do, as you can imagine lots of things kept popping into my head and I thought oh my goodness where do I start !!!!!!!!.
Well here is the first one, I had to write the other ideas down in case I forget.

8x8 white card used for this. The first backing is pink card from stash, I then embossed white hammered card with Picnic Plaid from Die`sire and inked with VersaMagic Pink Petunia. For the main image I decided it was time to get the Promarkers out and and used my own DIGI Image... ROSE, colours used were Blossom, Antique Pink, Pink Carnation, Pine, Grass, and Leaf Green, so glad I printed 2 off as I completely mucked the first one up, still need to practise and hopefully will get there one day lol. I then diecut the Raindrops on Roses and corner die from La-La Land Crafts.
Then I realised I did not have the right colour ribbon.... so off I trot to Dunelm (10 mins away from mine). Shock of shocks they are getting rid of their craft so not much to be had there, luckily the haberdashery dept had loads of ribbon. Last thing added was stick pin from stash.

Flowers again.....

Good afternoon to all my lovely followers, friends and passer bys, I hope your day is going well. What a day it has been here, we woke late this morning as hubby`s alarm clock did not go off for some reason so instead of being up at 6.45 it was 8 and hubby had to be at work by 8.30, talk about rushing around phew it was exhausting lol.
Well that really put me out of sorts, I was going to do so much today, but in the end I could not be bothered so I decided to have a play with some of my dies and I am quite pleased with the finished card unlike the other day when I used some freebie sewing stamps. Got the card made which I thought was ok but have now decided I dont like it one little bit so it`s in the bin.
Waffle over lol here is my card..... Hope you like it
5x5 white card
Kanban Garden Vistas backing paper which I roughened the edges with scissors then inked with Versa Magic Ink Pretty Petunia. Spellbinders Decorative Labels One cut out in white, then cut  same paper to fit inside. Rose leaves from Signature Dies, McGill punched Designer Pine, flower from Brittania Medium Die sentiment die cut from All Occasion Dies.
I may well have to try this on a bigger card with more flowers.
